Aaxon delivers washer and dryer to a Hospital in Kogi State, Nigeria.
Aaxon Laundry Systems delivered a Huebsch commercial washer-extractor and drying tumbler to ECWA Hospital Egbe, a rural teaching hosital serving a large population in Kogi State, Nigeria. A 121-bed, multi-service facility, the hospital is comprised of approximately 33 acres with 68 buildings. It has a staff of 69.
The washer and dryer are intended to help out the staff who wash sheets and linens for the many patients they see per month. Aaxon was proud to be part of this venture and after myriad communication between Aaxon and Egbe Hospital the washer and dryer were officially up and running on January 16, 2015.
We would like to thank Dale Simpson, SE Field Servicer Manager from Alliance Laundry Systems and Lenny Miles for their perseverance and tenacity to help with this project.
Message from Don Campion, Egbe Hospital Revitalization Leader:
“Thank you so much for sticking with us. We always take a lot of time researching exactly the right equipment when we are shipping it 7,000 miles to the bush. It goes by ship to Morocco then changes ships to Lagos, Nigeria then 2 days drive over horrible roads into the village of Egbe to be installed in a hospital. In this hospital, we create 60% of our own power, 100% of our water, build our own furniture, make our own cement blocks to build our buildings and need to wash the sheets and linens that come out of the hospital wards, operating room and maternity. We hang the clothes up to dry but mango fly’s lay eggs on the sheets -- so we put them out to dry to save power - now we can run them in a dryer for 10 minutes to kill the insect eggs. Titus is the laundry manager who has worked at the hospital for more than 30 years and he never expected incredible machines like this coming to his laundry.
Each of you has stuck with us to find the solution. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are revitalizing this hospital to be a Beacon of Hope and Healing to many who would otherwise die of very curable sickness and injury. It is also a place where we can share the love of Jesus Christ with those that have come for medical treatment and the Nigeria Doctors and Nurses that are training at this hospital.”
